PhotoSummit® 25

Three days of pictures, and a programme you can read.

Challenge
Four thousand attendees, five stages and a programme that changed twice a day. The previous year's site was a PDF and the venue's signage was A4 sheets in plastic wallets; the most common question at the desk was where a talk had moved to.

Design & Experience
The identity is built from the crop marks of a contact sheet — a frame, a number and a stage colour — so a stage sign, a lanyard and a schedule row are visibly the same object at three different sizes.
The programme is the site's home page rather than a page inside it. It updates live, remembers what you starred, and works on the venue's very patient wi-fi because it ships as text first and photography second.
Vision
A conference that can move a talk at ten in the morning and have every sign, screen and phone agree by five past.
Conclusion
Desk enquiries about room changes fell by four fifths, and the programme was still being used to catch up on talks a fortnight after the summit closed.
